Today's blog post is a very different blog post about domestic violence, as I want to use my platform to raise awareness by continuing to talk about these issues and committing to not be a bystander, each of us can go a long way to ending domestic violence. With keen observation and vigilance, we can help victims escape abusive situations and access the resources they need.
Below is a great place in Second life called The Care and Hope Center.
Everyone has the right to live a life free from violence. It is important to remember, help is at hand. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence they can get help.
Founded in 2014, the Care and Hope Center is a not-for-profit information hub to instil awareness on the horrors of domestic violence. The Center provides, in a free and safe environment, informational boards on topics such as "What is domestic violence", "Emotional Abuse", "Teen Dating Abuse", "What to look for in a partner", etc. as well as videos. Additionally, the Center offers free and confidential classes where we discuss topics such as "Warning Signs of an Abusive Partner/Relationship". The Center is with the approval of LoveIsRespect.org, The National Domestic Violence Hotline, NoMore.org, The National Resource Center on Domestic Violence, and Joyful Heart Foundation.
Please stop by the Center at any time. It is open to all. I designed the Center to be comforting and friendly.
